On-Call Custodian Response Team Member - Detroit Public Schools
About The Position
This position is part of GDI’s custodial call-off response team supporting DPS. Team members are not assigned to one permanent school. Employees will report to different DPS school locations based on daily call-offs, staffing shortages, and operational needs. If call-off coverage is not needed, employees will be assigned to a specific DPS location for project or supplemental custodial work. Requirements
- Attendance is essential
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must satisfy applicable pre-employment and site-access requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Timekeeping (punching into and out of work using a phone-based system)
Nice To Haves
- Experience with cleaning school buildings a plus
Responsibilities
- Complete work with within budgeted time (8 hours)
- Cleaning of a school building
- Refill dispensers, toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, hand sanitizer
- Cleaning restrooms, break-rooms, dusting and trash removal
- Sweeping, mopping and vacuum
