About The Position

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is seeking a Per Diem On Call Case Manager for our Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) Program in Jersey City, NJ. This role involves responding to dispatches after business hours as the second person on a two-person team, providing support to the full-time staff. The primary responsibility is to offer crisis de-escalation, intervention, and safety planning for families and children experiencing escalating behavioral or emotional issues. Services are provided 24/7/365, with a required response time of within 1 hour of referral. The goal is to defuse crises, ensure safety, and help maintain children in their homes or current living situations. The length of service for interventions ranges from a minimum of 72 hours up to 8 weeks, with all interventions determined by the families' individualized needs. The Mobile Response Worker's responsibility ends when the family is stable at the end of the scene, and they are not responsible for coordination of services after the dispatch.

Requirements

Bachelor Degree in social work or a related field
Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

Respond to dispatches after business hours as the second person on a team of two.
Provide support to the full-time staff of the MRSS program.
Provide crisis de-escalation/intervention to families and children.
Develop safety plans for families and children experiencing escalating behavioral or emotional issues.
Respond to calls within 1 hour of referral, as per contract requirements.
Travel to the site of the crisis, such as in the child’s/family’s home, school, or other community locations.
Utilize agency-owned cars to travel to crisis sites.
