On-Call Caregivers Needed
About The Position
HomeWell Care Services is seeking experienced, dependable, and highly skilled caregivers in the Columbus and surrounding areas to join their on-call caregiver team. This role offers an opportunity to earn extra income by being available to help clients. Caregivers will receive $75 for each day they are scheduled to be on-call, regardless of whether they are called in to work. If a shift is needed, they will receive the $75 on-call pay plus their applicable hourly rate. On-call availability is required from 6:00 AM to 11:59 PM on scheduled days. This position is ideal for experienced caregivers seeking flexibility and a meaningful way to supplement their income.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of verifiable experience as a caregiver
- Must have reliable transportation with proof of a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance
- Must possess excellent communication skills
- Must be proactive and able to work independently
- Pass a criminal background check
- Compassion, maturity and empathy
- Pride in punctuality and reliability
- Must be able to bend and lift with ease
Nice To Haves
- Willing and able to travel to client homes throughout Franklin and Delaware Counties
- Comfortable working in homes with cats, dogs, and/or smokers
- Experience and skills necessary to provide care for clients with varying levels of needs, including those requiring Hoyer lift transfers
- Comfortable assisting with all aspects of personal care and activities of daily living
- Dependable, adaptable, and ready to step in when care is needed
- Available throughout the designated on-call period
- Ability to work with pets is a plus!
Responsibilities
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Helping with mobility, transfers, and ambulation
- Preparing meals and performing light housekeeping
- Providing medication reminders
- Assisting with transportation to appointments and errands
- Supporting clients in maintaining their independence, dignity, and quality of life

- $17.00/hour starting pay for caregivers with 2+ years of experience
- $18.00/hour starting pay for STNAs
- $22.00–$31.25/hour for qualifying short shifts (1–3 hours)
