The Islands of Islamorada is seeking a bartender to join their team of experienced hospitality professionals. This role involves greeting guests, taking food and beverage orders, serving guests according to company standards, and adhering to all beverage pour and recipe standards. The bartender will communicate inventory needs, possess extensive knowledge of food, wine, beer, alcohol, and specialty cocktails, and be able to make wine pairing suggestions. The position requires the use of suggestive selling methods to drive revenue growth, clear communication of daily specials and specialty menus, and the practice of safe serving techniques, including recognizing intoxication and refusing service when necessary. The ideal candidate will be perceptive, proactive, engaging, and able to anticipate guest needs, personalizing the guest experience. Responsibilities also include completing pre-shift preparations like stocking garnishes, pre-mix, and ice, creating syrups and in-house infusions, and performing side work and closing tasks such as cleaning, sanitation, and restocking. Additional duties include properly opening and closing beer taps, polishing glassware, recording breakage, removing trash, making coffee, tea, and espressos, preparing and presenting bills, processing payments, and checking out with a manager. Maintaining cleanliness and safety in all dining and storage areas, assisting team members, and attending required meetings and training sessions are also part of the role. Compliance with all company policies, including time and attendance, uniform standards, anti-harassment, and substance-free workplace policies, is mandatory.
