About The Position

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking a highly motivated Banquet Server to join their team at the Houston Marriott Westchase. This role involves setting up and preparing banquet rooms for functions, serving guests, clearing tables, and breaking down banquet rooms at the end of events. The ideal candidate is driven, eager to learn, and committed to providing exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced, world-class property.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively understand and communicate in the English language with guest and restaurant staff alike.
  • Knowledgeable in guest service with food service experience, preferably Banquet service.
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities under pressure in a fast-paced environment and respond with a sense of urgency when needed to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Moving up to 50 lbs. frequently, throughout shift, to perform essential job functions.
  • Frequent reaching, twisting, pulling, bending, and stooping.
  • Frequently standing, walking, and ascend/descend stairs throughout work shift.
  • Moves about the hotel and banquet areas including but not limited to banquet areas, dining rooms, and other event spaces within the hotel, for duration of shift.

  • Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up for functions to include draping tables, setting silverware, folding napkins, preparing drinks and putting out table centerpieces.
  • Serve food and clear food from tables.
  • Break down functions to include bussing tables, putting away dirty linen and centerpieces, and vacuuming.
  • Clean back hall and organize storerooms.
  • Set up for AM or PM break stations that include coffee, tea, snacks, beverages, etc.
  • Assist with event room setup according to meal period and table needs.
  • Perform food & beverage preparation duties such as preparing condiments, brewing coffee and ensuring workstations are stocked.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests.
  • Remove dishes, glasses, silverware or other items from tables/countertops and take them to the kitchen.
  • Clean and sanitize tables and/or counters & seats after guests are finished.
  • Explain how various menu items are prepared, cooking methods and ingredients.
  • Take into consideration any special request and dietary issues made by the guest.
  • Provide general property information.
  • Offer warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests.
  • Interact with staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information.
  • Ensure final quality check on food and beverage items prior to serving guests.
  • Monitor assigned tables for customer satisfaction, quality and additional service.
  • Address any guest issue promptly and with high concern.
  • Provide assistance to other event and restaurant staff as needed.
  • Maintain constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons).
