About The Position

The PHO - On Call Banquet Bartender plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional beverage service during banquet events across various venues in the United States. This position requires flexibility and readiness to respond promptly to on-call assignments, ensuring that all guests receive timely and professional service. The bartender will be responsible for preparing and serving a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with event specifications and company standards. Maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area is essential to support efficient service and uphold health and safety regulations. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the overall guest experience by providing attentive, courteous, and knowledgeable service in a dynamic event environment.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • Previous experience as a bartender, preferably in banquet or event settings.
  • Valid alcohol server certification or permit as required by state law.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays on an on-call basis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a high-volume banquet or hospitality environment.
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of cocktails, wines, and spirits.
  • Certification in responsible alcohol service training programs such as TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol.
  • Ability to handle cash and operate point-of-sale systems accurately.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to on-call notifications and arrive at assigned banquet events prepared to work.
  • Prepare, mix, and serve beverages according to standardized recipes and guest preferences.
  • Ensure compliance with all local and state alcohol service laws and company policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area before, during, and after events.
  • Collaborate with banquet and service staff to ensure smooth event operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor guest consumption and intervene responsibly to promote safe alcohol consumption.
  • Restock bar supplies and report inventory needs to management after each event.
