About The Position

Interns will assist with research and industrial projects in advanced manufacturing. This internship provides hands-on experience with state-of-the-art equipment and real-world engineering challenges. Interns will collaborate with industry professionals, faculty, and graduate students to support experimental design, data collection, project validation, and technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a high school, undergraduate, or graduate program with an interest in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented research environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of machining, welding, or additive manufacturing processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing prototypes and conducting manufacturing experiments.
  • Collect and analyze data from material testing and process monitoring systems.
  • Work with CAD and CAM software for part design and toolpath generation.
  • Operate lab equipment, ensuring safety and proper usage.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to document findings.
  • Collaborate with team members on project tasks and research objectives.
