We are currently looking for an Okta Technical Consultant (OWI/OCI) with strong experience in Okta Workforce Identity implementations, identity federation, access management, and customer-facing consulting engagements. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering hands-on implementation and deployment services, designing scalable identity solutions, and ensuring successful customer adoption of the Okta platform. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, working closely with customers, Customer Success, Engineering, and Product teams to drive successful deployments and long-term customer success.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience as a Technical Consultant delivering complex solutions for external customers.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and deploying Okta solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Strong expertise in identity federation and access management protocols including SAML 2.0, OAuth, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and WS-Federation.
  • Experience designing and implementing security and identity management solutions for critical enterprise systems.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise identity lifecycle management processes and industry best practices.
  • Experience working with cloud architectures as well as complex on-premises IT environments.
  • Knowledge of REST/JSON APIs and integration technologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple customer engagements while balancing competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication, consulting, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Valid Okta Consultant Certification is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Okta Developer Certification and Workflows Specialty Certification.
  • Hands-on experience with Okta Workflows and workflow automation.
  • Knowledge of Okta Identity Governance (OIG), Okta Access Gateway (OAG), and Okta Privileged Access (OPA) / Advanced Server Access (ASA).
  • Experience with development languages such as Java, .NET, or PHP.
  • Strong JavaScript experience and familiarity with modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Ember.
  • Experience with Node.js and/or mobile application development (iOS/Android).
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or similar technologies.
  • CISSP certification is a plus.
  • Strong presentation, customer relationship management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead hands-on technical design, configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting of Okta solutions for enterprise customers.
  • Gather, analyze, and document post-sales customer requirements to design secure and scalable identity solutions.
  • Design and implement identity federation and access management solutions using SAML 2.0, OAuth, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and WS-Federation.
  • Configure and integrate Okta with SaaS, cloud, and on-premises enterprise applications.
  • Apply expertise in identity lifecycle management processes, access controls, and enterprise security standards.
  • Manage multiple concurrent customer deployment projects while ensuring timely, high-quality delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide technical mentorship and training to customers to drive adoption and self-sufficiency.
  • Maintain project documentation, track project status, manage scope, and enforce quality and change management processes.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Support teams to troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and Product Management, providing feedback to influence future product enhancements.
  • Partner with Customer Success and Sales teams to identify expansion, upsell, and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of delivery methodologies, best practices, and deployment knowledge repositories.
