As the Okta Identity Engineer, you will be part of a growing team to help support projects and serve as the subject matter expert, responsible for architecting, designing and implementing a variety of identity and access management solutions. Candidates being considered for this role must currently reside in US Eastern Time.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of IT experience, 3+ years of Okta experience
  • Experience using Okta as an enterprise identity provider solution.
  • Knowledge of Okta including features, integrations, and architecture.
  • Understanding of authentication protocols, such as SAML 2.0 or OAuth/SSO.
  • Experience with identity management, IDaaS , provisioning, user lifecycle operations, and federation.
  • Experience implementing automated provisioning of end-point by using custom provisioning flows, SCIM or JIT capabilities.
  • Experience configuring user authentication policies and application connections in Okta.
  • Experience configuring and managing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) factors for Okta users, including Okta Verify, FIDO tokens, One-Time Passcodes, and RSA tokens.
  • Experience building automation using Okta Workflows, REST APIs, webhooks, and JSON payloads to construct calls for required tasks.
  • Using Terraform for configuration management.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain Okta identity and access management solutions.
  • Integrate Okta with various applications and systems to include cloud/SaaS to streamline authentication and authorization processes.
  • Develop and configure Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solutions using Okta.
  • Design and develop automation with various applications and systems using Okta Workflows and/or approved AI-powered tools.
  • Perform regular system audits and security assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Continuously monitor identities, access rights, and usage patterns to proactively mitigate risks and enhance the organization’s security posture.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Okta configurations and integrations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture requirements and implement identity management solutions that meet business needs.
