About The Position

This position is responsible for following all lockout, safety, and PPE policies. The Oiler will complete all assigned preventative maintenance (PMs), and grease and lubricate all machinery. This role will also assist Millwrights in maintenance functions. The Oiler must be able to organize thoughts, be task-oriented, and show consistent follow-through on assigned jobs. Maintaining a clean and organized work area is essential, as is the ability to communicate with co-workers regarding any necessary follow-ups. The Oiler must stay focused on the job at hand and complete it to a high standard, demonstrating constant improvement by learning proper maintenance techniques for all equipment on the plant site. They will also provide proper support and training to other employees in the department and follow up until adequate training is complete, and must be able to receive critical feedback. The core duties include lubricating and maintaining proper oil levels on all machine centers, and learning/performing basic essential maintenance repairs on all equipment related to oiling and lubrication processes. The use of a forklift or man lift may be necessary. Secondary duties include performing other assigned duties for production and cleaning purposes, and assisting in production when requested by department supervisors.

  • Reading and speech required to communicate comprehension of Job Hazard Analysis, machine specific lockout procedures, monthly safety training, etc.
  • Self-directed in identifying and efficiently completing each task.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and make necessary decisions.
  • Do only maintenance you are trained to do and keep all body parts out of machinery.
  • Always use our 14-step lockout/tagout procedure before doing any maintenance, clearing jams, or getting into machinery for any reason; be aware of stored energy.
  • Always use proper body mechanics (ex: don’t overreach, get help as needed).
  • Use proper PPE (gloves, eye protection, hearing protection).
  • Be aware of and always communicate with your co-workers.
  • Will be required to read and write during safety training.

Responsibilities
