Primary Purpose: The Oiler is responsible for executing lubrication, inspection, and basic preventive maintenance activities on production and facility equipment to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and longevity.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or maintenance environment
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of equipment components and functions
  • Ability to follow preventive maintenance schedules and standardized work processes
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify equipment abnormalities
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced production environment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in lubrication programs or maintenance support roles
  • Familiarity with maintenance tracking systems
  • Working knowledge of industrial lubrication practices, oils, greases, and application methods
  • Exposure to predictive or preventive maintenance practices

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine lubrication of machinery, including bearings, gears, chains, and other moving components in accordance with established schedules
  • Inspect equipment during lubrication routes to identify abnormal conditions such as leaks, vibration, noise, or wear
  • Maintain and follow preventive maintenance (PM) schedules related to lubrication and basic mechanical upkeep
  • Refill, clean, and maintain lubrication systems, reservoirs, and delivery equipment
  • Document completed work, inspections, and findings in CMMS or maintenance tracking systems
  • Report equipment deficiencies to maintenance leadership and mechanics for corrective action
  • Assist mechanics and maintenance technicians with basic maintenance tasks and equipment servicing
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of lubricants, oils, and chemicals in compliance with safety and environmental standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of lubrication equipment, storage areas, and workspaces
  • Monitor lubricant inventory levels and notify leadership when replenishment is required
  • Support equipment reliability initiatives by identifying recurring issues and contributing to root cause awareness
  • Follow all plant safety policies, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, and hazard communication standards
  • Respond to urgent lubrication or servicing needs during equipment downtime or breakdowns
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support maintenance and plant operations
