About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is a neighborhood go-to oil change spot with over 35 years of experience, known for friendly technicians, oil change expertise, and an efficient process that allows customers to stay in their vehicles. The company is actively seeking friendly and energetic team members, including technicians and managers, across the country. Take 5 offers a "Pit Tech to President" growth path, with over 90% of field leaders being internal promotions. The Shop Manager role provides an opportunity to demonstrate leadership skills within a growing team. While experience is valued, it is not required. Experienced managers can earn $55,000 a year or more through base salaries and bonus opportunities. The company hires experienced leaders from various backgrounds, including other oil change shops, restaurants, and retail. For individuals without prior experience, opportunities as Assistant Manager or Manager-in-Training are available, accompanied by paid training covering all aspects of shop management and light maintenance services. New managers can become accountable for team execution of Take 5 standards in less than 60 days.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift to fifty (50) pounds
- Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3’ deep pit to position yourself safely under cars
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning
- Must be willing to work in hot/cold weather conditions if necessary
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop
- Must be willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion
- Must have basic computer operating skills

Responsibilities
- Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, & training new crew members
- Creating crew schedules & submit payroll
- Controlling inventory: Conduct End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory
- Placing product orders and physically restocking inventory as necessary
- Understanding the shop’s financials to drive results and utilize budget wisely
- Conducting quarterly employee evaluations
- Supporting crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services
- Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary
- Providing excellent customer service
