About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is seeking customer-focused and driven individuals to join our team as Assistant Shop Managers. We are a well-established company with over 35 years of experience, known for our friendly technicians and efficient oil change process that allows customers to remain in their vehicles. We offer a clear growth path, with over 90% of our field leaders being internal promotions. This role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for customer service and leadership, regardless of prior experience in the automotive industry. We provide comprehensive paid training to equip you with the skills needed to manage a shop, perform oil changes, and other light maintenance services.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
- Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3’ deep pit to position yourself safely under cars
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning
- Must be willing to work in hot/cold weather conditions if necessary
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the automotive industry is valued but not required
- Previous experience in roles such as servers, restaurant workers, mechanics, retail employees, landscapers, or other skilled trades is a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service and process payment for services performed
- Assume the responsibility and authority of the Shop Manager in the Shop Manager’s absence
- Run the floor, ensuring employees are in their correct positions, all vehicle checks are completed, and customers are satisfied
- Perform opening and closing procedures
- Assist with counting and adjusting inventory
- Train new employees according to Take 5 standards
- Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services
- Restock and maintain inventory levels
- Maintain cleanliness of the shop, office, and bathrooms
