About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is seeking customer service-oriented individuals to join their team as Assistant Shop Managers. The company has been in business for over 35 years and focuses on providing efficient and friendly oil change services while customers remain in their vehicles. They offer a "Pit Tech to President" growth path, with over 90% of field leaders being internal promotions. This role provides an opportunity to develop leadership skills and advance quickly within the company. Experience is valued but not required, and the company welcomes individuals from various backgrounds such as servers, restaurant workers, mechanics, retail employees, and landscapers. Take 5 provides paid training on their methods for managing a shop, performing oil changes, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling tires, and other light maintenance services.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift to fifty (50) pounds
- Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3’ deep pit to position yourself safely under cars
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning
- Must be willing to work in hot/cold weather conditions if necessary
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service and process payment for services performed
- Assume the responsibility and authority of the Shop Manager in the Shop Manager’s absence
- Run the floor (making sure each employee is where they need to be, ensuring everything has been checked on each vehicle, and every customer is satisfied before they leave)
- Perform opening and closing procedures
- Assist with counting and adjusting inventory
- Train new employees to fulfill duties in the Take 5 way
- Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary
- Restock and maintain inventory levels on the floor
- Maintain shop, office, and bathroom cleanliness
