About The Position

PacAero Agawam is seeking a detail-oriented OGP Inspection Technician / Junior QC Inspector to support our Quality team by performing dimensional inspections using our OGP (Optical Gaging Products) vision measurement system. This role is responsible for verifying that precision components meet engineering drawing requirements, with a primary focus on parts containing critical pin features and tight dimensional tolerances. In addition to OGP inspection, this position will assist with visual inspections and general quality activities and may be cross-trained to support other Quality Control functions as business needs require. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring equipment.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and productivity.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous manufacturing or inspection experience preferred.
  • Experience operating an OGP or other vision measurement system is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional inspections using the OGP vision measurement system.
  • Verify pin locations, diameters, heights, and other critical characteristics against engineering drawings and customer specifications.
  • Inspect components requiring precision pin alignment and determine if pins fall within established tolerances.
  • Carefully straighten or adjust bent pins, when permitted by work instructions, to bring components back within specification.
  • Record inspection results accurately and maintain inspection documentation.
  • Identify, document, and report nonconforming product.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and inspection requirements.
  • Utilize precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Support first article, in-process, and final inspections as required.
  • Assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions when quality issues arise.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and calibration-conscious work environment.
  • Follow all company quality procedures, ISO requirements, safety policies, and customer requirements.
  • Perform visual inspections on a variety of aerospace components.
  • Support receiving, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Learn defect identification and acceptance criteria.
  • Assist with documentation review and quality records.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality projects.
  • Cross-train in additional Quality Control inspection techniques and equipment.
