About The Position

Total Safety is looking for an Offshore Fire Technician III to join their safety conscious team! The Offshore Fire Technician III provides service inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair for fire equipment which typically includes but is not limited to portable and semi-portable fire extinguishers, lifesaving equipment, fire and gas detection systems, foam systems, dry chemical systems, navigational aids, gaseous suppression systems and water-based fire protection systems.

Requirements

Minimum 5-7 years offshore experience servicing mentioned systems
Current or able to obtain Louisiana State Fire Marshal endorsement in Fire Alarm, Fixed Fire Suppression and Fire Extinguishers and Hoses
Current TWIC card or able to obtain
Valid driver's license from state of residence and valid proof of vehicle insurance
Reliable transportation
Clean driving record
OPITO approved THUET with CA-EBS
Safe Gulf Certification
Able to wear an SCBA
Passport or able to obtain

Nice To Haves

NICET certifications (Fire Alarm Systems, Special Hazard Systems)
Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft excel and word
Electrical and/or electronics background
Ability to operation multi-meter
Interface with various fire systems through computer
Ability to read SAFE chart, fire safety plan and schematics
Research regulatory document for most recent requirements (API, NFPA, CFR, etc.)
Trade school/vocational school preferred
Manufacturer training preferred

Responsibilities

Performs inspections, calibrations, troubleshooting and repairs of fixed fire detection systems, fixed gas detection systems, suppression systems, fire extinguishers, lifesaving equipment and Aids-To-Navigation systems.
Ensure respective systems are in good working order as per manufacturer's specifications and in compliance with the most up to date regulatory standards.
Capable of installing and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) systems when required.
