The Team The Polio Team works with partners of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI), as well as with country governments, donors and other collaborators, to build and implement the global strategy to eradicate Polio. We do this by developing relationships and uplifting each other through our journey together. Your Role We are seeking an Officer, Strategy and Implementation to support critical strategy projects within a matrix environment. You will develop and revise strategic areas of the foundation by crafting, translating, and communicating high-quality data-driven analyses and key insights to internal teams and foundation partners. This role can sit in Seattle, WA or Washington D.C. and will report to the Deputy Director, Strategy & Partnerships. This position is a limited-term position for 11-months. Relocation will not be provided.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or other advanced degree with 5+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in a self-guided manner, manage multiple priorities and work towards demanding timelines.
  • Ability to question and challenge colleagues including managers and partners in a constructive manner.
  • Accustomed to highly unstructured and ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to learn new content quickly, identify connections and second-order implications, and demonstrate proficiency with internal/external teams.
  • Strong pattern recognition grounded in relevant domain knowledge.
  • Ability to act independently to determine methods and procedures on assignments.
  • Strong analytical and written and oral communication skills.
  • Data synthesis, analysis, and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail in proofing materials, tracking projects and grants.
  • Project management experience and savvy.
  • Must be able to legally work in the country where this position is located without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Support strategy development and strategic projects by partnering closely with leadership and workstream leads.
  • Research and collect quality data to measure results and make data-driven decisions.
  • Provide project management, problem-solving, and materials development for team strategy discussions.
  • Enable strategic partnerships to develop and assess options, ensure sound reasoning, and challenge assumptions.
  • Partner with our internal team to co-develop and test strategy concepts and facilitate strategic change.
  • Lead the implementation of creative solutions to guide group processes around managing different viewpoints and encouraging alignment.
  • Provide recommendations for program areas and partners on key documents, reports, and presentations for a variety of purposes and audiences.
  • Support the Strategy, Planning, & Management team with planning and development of the annual strategy review process, as well as regular meetings, materials, and communications with foundation leadership (CEO & Executive Leadership Team) as well as external polio partners (Polio Oversight Board, Strategy Committee, GPEI global and country groups).
