About The Position

Evergreen is seeking an Officer, Stewardship & Donor Engagement to join their team. Evergreen is a national non-profit organization dedicated to transforming public spaces in cities to improve the health of people and the planet. The organization envisions transformed public spaces where people and nature can thrive. The Evergreen Brick Works site, where the head office is located, is situated on the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee, Wendat, and Anishinaabe Nations, governed by Treaty 13. This treaty signifies mutual responsibilities to these Nations and other Indigenous peoples. Requirements

  • 2 – 4 years’ experience in fundraising or partnership development.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong written communication skills, with experience drafting donor/client correspondence.
  • Experience maintaining confidential donor records and working with donor databases (e.g. Raiser’s Edge) to track stewardship activities, reporting obligations and gift documentation.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative working relationships with internal audiences, senior leadership, and external partners while delivering a high standard of service.
  • Sound judgment and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience in fundraising preferred, but public relations, sales or a related field is also suitable.
  • Familiarity with fundraising and donor recognition processes within a charitable environment.
  • Experience in other areas of fundraising.
  • Knowledge of urban sustainability and environmental issues.

Responsibilities

  • Co-operate with team members in coordinating and tracking stewardship activities across the organization to ensure timely, personalized donor engagement.
  • Support Key Relationship Managers (KRM) in the execution of stewardship activities, including drafting reports, impact communications, and stewardship touchpoints.
  • Ensure all donor recognition (digital, print, on-site, and experiential) is accurate, timely, and aligned with donor agreements and organizational standards.
  • Maintain stewardship tracking systems and organized records of agreements, recognition requirements, and reporting obligations.
  • Track documentation to support accountability and consistency.
  • Ensure reporting deadlines are met and aligned with donor expectations.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing & Communications team to ensure consistency among various stewardship materials and the Annual Report.
  • Draft and coordinate gift agreements, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with donor intent and organizational policies.
  • Support the documentation and processing of gifts in collaboration with other departments, including finance.
  • Support the CAO and senior leadership with the development of proposals and donor communications as needed.
  • Occasionally prepare meeting materials, attend meetings to take notes, and track follow-ups to ensure timely action and continuity.
