About The Position

The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) is seeking to fill a 7-month term opportunity for an Officer, Security Operations Planning & Support. This role is part of the Corporate Safety & Security department and reports to the Manager, Security Operations & Response. The GTAA is committed to making Toronto Pearson a global leader in airport performance, customer care, and sustainability, with a team of approximately 2,100 employees working to create a next-generation airport experience. This position is unionized and classified at the Band 7 level, with an hourly wage of $45.97 for a 37.5-hour work week. A test will be part of the recruitment process.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years in Security or Airport Operations.
  • Experience with security systems, dispatch, SOP writing, and training.
  • Valid Ontario G class driver’s license and ability to obtain D/A AVOP within 30 days.
  • Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) Telecommunicator certification is required.
  • Post-secondary diploma.
  • Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of access control, CCTV, CAD, dispatch systems.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Security Regulations.
  • Strong communication, analysis, and training delivery skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, assess, and analyze security alerts and events.
  • Investigate process failures impacting Security.
  • Conduct security assessments and audits.
  • Support plans, SOPs, and guideline development.
  • Assist with business requirements and project planning.
  • Perform system testing and support implementation.
  • Maintain internal information portals.
  • Develop and maintain incident response plans.
  • Conduct training sessions and tabletop exercises.
  • Analyze incident data and participate in debriefs.
  • Support day-of operations planning and logistics.
  • Evaluate and support operational security technologies.
  • Remain operationally current and work adhoc shifts as needed.
