About The Position

Under the direction of the Manager, Retail Network, this role coordinates and supports the implementation of changes to the Retail Network, encompassing both corporate and private entities. This includes managing the relocation and image upgrades of corporate offices, as well as overseeing changes within the private sector dealer process.

Requirements

  • Completed post-secondary education, preferably in a related field, OR a combination of equivalent professional experience and training.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant functional experience.
  • Proficient computer skills and competent with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Possess a valid permanent driver’s license (no graduated or temporary license).
  • Have a satisfactory safe driving record per CPC’s Driver Safety Program, which includes: not receiving more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years, not having more than three demerit points assigned in one single violation, and not having a license suspension or prohibition of any kind in the last 3 years.
  • Frequent/extensive travel away from the home office or home region, which may include the need for overnight stays in hotels.
  • Extended travel to remote areas may also be required.

Nice To Haves

  • One or more years of experience in a unionized environment.
  • Enrollment in specific designation and or certifications programs may be required for certain positions (e.g. Finance & Engineering).

Responsibilities

  • Works with regional retail to identify opportunities for network change and assists in the development of divisional priorities, ensuring accurate collection and timely submission of background information to the Manager, Retail Network.
  • Ensures that all retail network changes are integrated with other head office functions (Communications, Labour Relations, Delivery Services, Mail Operations, Real Estate, and Training) to meet all requirements related to people, labor contracts, financial matters, and mail movement.
  • Provides assistance to the region and head office Retail Network in preparing supporting documentation for facility modifications or repairs.
  • Provides guidance to the region regarding the investment plan and process for Retail Network change.
  • Coordinates the approval for the opening, relocation, modifications, or repairs of corporate facilities and dealerships.
  • Provides input and direction on policies, procedures, and processes that manage and control retail network change.
  • Confers with Regional counterparts to develop and implement network change processes for a community.
  • Acts as a project manager by providing guidance and assistance in the implementation of corporate facility changes, managing projects within the developed budget and timelines according to corporate standards.
  • Provides ongoing support and advice to other groups and functions on the process to obtain and implement change in both the corporate and private network.
  • Provides guidance and assistance to the Manager, Retail Network on retail changes impacting the collective agreement.
  • Provides reports concerning changes to the network and the status of outlets for notification to all corporate functions, systems, and databases.
  • Briefs Regional counterparts and Head Office staff regarding government and media issues related to Retail Network change.
