About The Position

The Officer, Leadership Giving is based in Vancouver and oversees a $1M+ fundraising portfolio. They are responsible for deepening donor engagement and expanding organizational capacity by building a strong pipeline of prospective major donors and stewarding current supporters. They contribute to the planning and execution of leadership donor events in Vancouver.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years’ experience in major gifts fundraising securing gifts of more than $10,000 with proven experience in relationship management, in-person solicitations and grant writing.
  • Experience leading or supporting fundraising and stewardship events.
  • Experience tracking donor engagement in a CRM system (we use Raiser’s Edge NXT).
  • Spoken and written English required. French an asset.
  • Passion for building donor relationships and connecting people to our mission.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with proven ability to clearly communicate organizational values and impact that inspire giving.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate across teams to advance multiple initiatives while managing competing priorities. Strong project-management skills.
  • Knowledge of Canadian fundraising legislation and ethical standards.
  • Alignment with our mission, vision, values and strategic priorities and a commitment to working collaboratively toward an equitable, anti-racist culture.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and solicit leadership gifts ($10,000+) from foundations, individuals and corporations.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director and program staff to identify funding priorities, develop strategies to meet fundraising targets, and create compelling proposals, reports and cases for support that communicate project impact to funders.
  • Coordinate with other departments to monitor and evaluate project outcomes.
  • Maintain donor records and track engagement activities in Raiser’s Edge NXT.
  • Support leadership fundraising and stewardship events in Vancouver. Strategically leverage other regional events to build relationships and recognize major donors.
