About The Position

KE&G Construction, an established employee-owned company, is seeking a motivated part-time Office Support Specialist to assist their accounting and HR teams. This role involves supporting daily tasks, providing excellent service to employees and applicants, and maintaining organized filing systems. The specialist will also assist with new hire processing, payroll support, and potentially aid the benefits coordinator.

Requirements

  • Some administrative experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and well-organized HR and Accounting filing systems, both electronic and paper, in accordance with record retention and audit standards.
  • Scanning and filing files
  • Conduct initial phone screenings and assist with applicant evaluation and documentation tracking
  • Enter new hire information into the I-9 system and support payroll processing tasks, including data verification and coordination with payroll timelines
  • Prepare new hire and employee change documentation, distribute onboarding communications, and support orientation sessions
  • Process and record employee internal tracking logs
  • Provide coverage for HR members during career fairs, peak processing periods, or planned absences
  • Support day to day HR and Payroll operations, including special projects, reporting assistance, and administrative support as assigned
  • Review contractor submissions for certified payrolls.
  • Collect data from project managers for Certified Payrolls
  • Assist with daily tasks within our department
  • May assist our Benefits coordinator with duties assigned
