About The Position

The main purpose of this full-time contractual position will be to work within the Planning Department of the Worcester County Health Department including the Local Management Board (LMB) and the Local Behavioral health Authority (LBHA). The duties of this position require a high level of confidentiality and will be responsible for maintaining positive interactions with internal and external coworkers and stakeholders on the phone, in person and through other means of communication. This position will assure accurate, timely, and complete data collection, which includes compiling data related to programmatic expenses, reports and coordinating meetings as well as developing meeting minutes and agendas. Additionally, this position will develop memos and other routine correspondences and assists with proofreading and verifying information in reports, contracts and other documents. The selected applicant must be willing and able to travel to all Worcester County Health Department sites.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • One year of experience performing clerical duties.
  • Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours of education at an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.
  • Six months clerical training with three courses in subjects such as keyboarding, clerical math, word processing, spreadsheets, database, graphics presentation, proofreading, or office etiquette may be substituted for six months of the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administrative classifications or in Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Clerical Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Compile data related to programmatic expenses and reports.
  • Coordinate meetings, develop meeting minutes and agendas.
  • Develop memos and other routine correspondences.
  • Assist with proofreading and verifying information in reports, contracts and other documents.
  • Maintain positive interactions with internal and external coworkers and stakeholders.
  • Travel to all Worcester County Health Department sites.
