About The Position

This is a full-time contractual position with the Maryland Department of Human Services (DHS), Child Support Administration. The incumbent provides clerical support by maintaining the agency’s electronic file maintenance, document imaging systems, and mail processing. The role involves performing duties in accordance with established agency policy and procedures to support the mission of the agency.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • One year of experience performing clerical duties.
  • Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours of education at an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.
  • Six months clerical training with three courses in subjects such as keyboarding, clerical math, word processing, spreadsheets, database, graphics presentation, proofreading, or office etiquette may be substituted for six months of the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administrative classifications or in Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Clerical Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and identify electronic court orders and guidelines within a designated proxy email for download and renaming.
  • Use CSMS to look up information for the upload process.
  • Scan items to the appropriate electronic case file using ECMS.
  • Maintain electronic files to ensure records are kept in chronological order and current using ECMS.
  • Verify that electronic files not housed in ECMS have been deleted for at least four (4) years with specific closure codes; and these codes must be entered into the agency’s approved database and the records purged.
  • Accept incoming mail from the US Postal Service to open, log, and scan to our electronic case file using ECMS.
