This position is responsible for providing nursing care to patients in a professional and courteous manner. It involves carrying out Physician orders including assisting with procedures, administering injections, performing phlebotomy, taking patient calls, cleaning and stocking exam rooms, calling in prescriptions, coordinating supply levels, pre-certifying patients medical services, and assisting the physician with all other patient care as requested.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Carolina
  • Current CPR certification
  • Basic first aid knowledge

  • Scheduling referrals, appointments, ancillaries, surgeries, and hospital admissions
  • Documenting medical records
  • Maintaining chart structure and filing/pulling charts
  • Faxing, copying, and handling mail
  • Collecting and processing specimens
  • Reporting lab results
  • Administering medications intravenously, subcutaneously, intramuscularly, intradermally, orally, topically, as suppositories, sublingually, and via inhalants
  • Storing and handling medications
  • Ordering and maintaining medication levels
  • Preparing and maintaining exam rooms
  • Conducting patient interviews
  • Assisting patients as a chaperone
  • Implementing physician orders
  • Providing patient education
  • Performing routine maintenance, ordering supplies, and cleaning of general office equipment, patient care equipment, and specialized equipment
  • Participating in in-service training and education
  • Maintaining log sheets and performing audits for samples, pharmacy, equipment, etc.
  • Stocking, cleaning, sterilizing, and storing instruments
  • Providing support and guidance for clinical policies and procedures
  • Performing precertification/authorization
  • Performing coding for visits and surgeries
  • Handling correspondence
  • Preparing statistical reports
  • Managing accounts payable and payroll
