About The Position

The Office Practice Leader I role is focused on providing strategic leadership for the Dallas office of CannonDesign. The position involves developing and leading a high-performance, diverse, and inclusive leadership team to achieve growth and outstanding results. The role requires developing and implementing a business plan for the office in alignment with the firm's overall strategy for integrated offices and fostering a Single-Firm, Multi-Office (SFMO) culture. The Office Practice Leader will act as a brand ambassador, demonstrating the firm's Living-Centered Design ethos in its culture and client partnerships. The majority of the time will be dedicated to strategy development and execution, as well as activities supporting office growth and impact, including external brand opportunities. The role also includes client leadership opportunities engaged directly on projects.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
Minimum of 15 years related experience with a proven track record of business development success and top line growth.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Business acumen and proven ability to execute strategy.
Professional acumen and maturity demonstrated by the ability to communicate authentically and respectfully.
Some travel required.

Responsibilities

Providing leadership, guidance, and support to Office and Market Leaders in developing new business opportunities to achieve top-line targets, supporting a minimum 10% growth of the office year over year.
Accountable for the growth and success of the office.
Leading strategy development and execution.
Engaging and partnering with all staff levels to advance entrepreneurial opportunities, innovative market solutions, and impactful design solutions.
Acting as a leading voice for the office within the community and marketplace, advancing a strategic plan to promote and elevate the brand of the office and the firm.
Championing Living-Centered Design and bringing the firm’s purpose to life in all interactions.
Fostering a design-focused culture, understanding, and advocating for the power and impact of a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and integrated response to client opportunities.
Empowering people to realize the importance of design and championing innovation.
Leading and implementing a yearly strategic business plan for the office, including strategies for top-line development, branding, and client engagement.
Partnering with Market Leaders, Service Leaders, Business Development Leaders, and Client Leaders to grow business volume.
Identifying, assessing, and evaluating Client Leaders and championing the client engagement process.
Working with the Director of BMBD and other leaders to provide mentorship and training for client leadership best practices.
Evaluating and taking action to address senior talent needs in the office, focusing on building a strong leadership team.
Establishing actions to implement the firm’s business plan to grow top line, optimize collaboration, and expand markets and services.
Championing mentoring and the growth and development of future leaders.
Working with Human Resources, Market and Office Leaders to identify, assess, mentor, and coach employees.
Championing employee engagement activities and owning results.
Championing best practices of project management, risk management, process improvement, project leadership, and office profitability.
Representing office leadership and staff in firm-wide meetings, conferences, and events.
Communicating outcomes, directions, initiatives, and policies back to the office.
Developing and executing internal communication processes to keep staff informed and foster collaboration.
