About The Position

Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital Pensacola is seeking an Office Operations Assistant for their Outpatient Therapy department. This PRN position involves greeting patients, managing check-in/check-out processes, verifying and entering demographic and insurance information, handling medical record releases, scheduling appointments, entering and submitting charges, collecting co-payments, reconciling daily reports and deposits, and providing general office support.

Requirements

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of Medical Office Reception experience

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors, check patients in and out, and obtain necessary documentation.
  • Verify and enter demographic information.
  • Obtain and verify insurance authorizations/precertification.
  • Complete medical record release requests and schedule/confirm patient appointments.
  • Enter, review and submit charges for patient procedures and services daily.
  • Collect co-payments and reconcile all daily reports and deposits for accuracy.
  • Provide general office and clerical support to assigned area.
