About The Position

Baylor University is seeking an Office Manager in the department of Psychology and Neuroscience. This position is broad in scope and involves office/equipment support as well as media/communication, event planning, and faculty/academic support. Although not a formal supervisor (with the exception of student workers), the office manager is responsible for coordinating efforts with other staff in the department, ensuring that everyone is fulfilling their obligations and functioning as a team. The individual in this position supervises student workers in the main office.

Requirements

  • An Associate's degree and two years of relevant work experience are required.
  • All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

  • Additional education or experience may be considered in lieu of one another.

Responsibilities

  • Ordering keys/card swipe access
  • Helping with Copier
  • Designating office Student Workers tasks
  • Maintenance of department office equipment and supplies
  • Technology inventory/audits
  • Managing conference room technology
  • Managing faculty office/IT moves
  • Major department work orders
  • Website layout/design and changes
  • Social Media Requests
  • Answering email and phone calls addressed to the department
  • Picking up department mail from the mail room in the BSB
  • Manage exam copy requests
  • Manage exam grading requests
  • Supervise make-up exams (in the conference room)
  • Manage textbook orders with bookstore
  • Submit personnel action forms to hire all adjunct faculty
  • Assist with applications, interviews, and onboarding of new faculty
  • Coordinate teaching observations for faculty reviews/compile evaluations
  • Provide support for department faculty meetings
  • Schedule conference room meetings
  • Schedule rooms/select venues for department events (guest speakers, etc.)
  • Event coordination for department-wide activities (e.g., Homecoming reception)
  • Updating information on department bulletin boards
  • Plan travel/schedule activities for job candidates, guest speakers, and faculty
  • Coordinate with other staff regarding various department activities/events
  • Oversee student workers
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
  • Ability to comply with university policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
