About The Position

Founded in 2001, LEARN is a network of high-performing college preparatory, tuition-free public elementary and middle schools with the mission of providing children with the academic foundation and ambition to earn a college degree. There are 11 LEARN Schools serving 4,100 students in grades PK-8 across Chicago, Waukegan, North Chicago, and Washington, D.C. It is our goal to create an environment, on every campus, in which our staff members feel supported, respected, and appreciated. Our staff work together at each school and across the network to share ideas, problem solve, and innovate to move our schools and students beyond the expected. Requirements

  • Have a demonstrated record of living LEARN's Core Values
  • Experience working with computers including software (such as Excel) and student information management systems (i.e. Powerschool and ASPEN)
  • Evaluate and improve processes
  • Perform responsible, accurate and timely clerical work
  • Understand and carry out oral and written directions
  • Type at least 40-50 WPM
  • Able to establish and maintain professional relationships
  • Can communicate accurately, courteously and effectively –orally and in writing – to different audiences

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual
  • Experience as an Office Manager or senior receptionist with 5 + years in a school setting preferred.
  • Associates degree
  • Ability to develop and maintain budgets

Responsibilities

  • Interacts frequently with staff, parents, students, instructors, visitors and community members
  • Manages student enrollment processes including family outreach and marketing
  • Responsible for the maintenance, care, security and integrity of student records
  • Updates all records and maintains a detailed filling system related to student information management systems (i.e. attendance, grades, health records, etc.). Adheres strictly to the policy of maintaining confidentiality
  • Ensures that the school is in compliance and meets all necessary administrative deadlines, requirements, etc.
  • Provides exceptional administrative support to the Principal and performs tasks in an efficient, professional and timely manner
  • Oversees staff attendance reporting
  • Facilities the ordering and receiving supplies for the office and school (i.e. purchase order process)
  • Provides Tier 1 tech support as needed (backup to IT support staff)
  • Establishing and maintains the organization of the school office
