About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Director / Office Manager to lead and grow our Industrial Hygiene & Built Environment practice in Arizona. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced environmental or industrial hygiene professional who combines strong technical expertise with proven project delivery, team leadership, and operational management skills. You will be responsible for overseeing office operations, managing project execution, developing client relationships, and mentoring staff, while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across all service lines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental consulting or industrial hygiene, including project leadership responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects, teams, and client relationships.
  • Strong technical expertise in: Asbestos surveys (AHERA, NESHAP), Lead-based paint assessments (EPA/HUD), Mold and IAQ investigations, Industrial hygiene evaluations.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry-relevant certifications such as: OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER, AHERA Asbestos Inspector, EPA/AZ Lead Inspector or Risk Assessor, Mold-related training or certifications (e.g. CMC), Indoor Environmental Quality training or certifications (e.g. CIEC), Industrial Hygiene training or certifications (e.g. CIH, CSP).
  • Experience in office or regional operations management.
  • Business development and client acquisition experience.
  • Demonstrated success mentoring and developing junior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the Arizona office, ensuring efficient project delivery, resource allocation, and financial performance.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team.
  • Establish and maintain a high-performance culture focused on quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
  • Support strategic growth initiatives, including business development and market expansion.
  • Support planned and emergent assignments.
  • Oversee and manage multiple environmental and industrial hygiene projects from proposal through completion.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of services including asbestos, lead, mold, IAQ, and industrial hygiene assessments.
  • Review technical reports, data, and deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and profitability.
  • Provide senior-level technical guidance on: Asbestos and lead-based paint assessments, Mold and moisture investigations, Indoor air quality (IAQ) and Indoor environmental quality (IEQ) evaluations, Industrial hygiene sampling and exposure assessments.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA, ADEQ).
  • Oversee field activities including sampling protocols, site investigations, remediation monitoring, and clearance testing.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic guidance and technical expertise.
  • Support proposal development, client presentations, and contract negotiations.
  • Ensure all projects and operations comply with applicable regulations and internal standards.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, including adherence to OSHA and company protocols.
