About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Office Engineer with a background in working on projects for the New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYC DDC). The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of DDC protocols, procedures, and project management requirements. This role is primarily office-based with occasional site visits. Candidates must be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle multiple active projects concurrently. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as an Office Engineer, preferably on NYC DDC projects.
  • Familiarity with NYC codes, standards, and DDC project management processes.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, project management software, and document control systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar drafting tools.
  • Experience with cost estimation and scheduling tools (Primavera, MS Project).
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration and coordination of construction projects under NYC DDC.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, and logs.
  • Oversee scheduling, budgeting, and progress reporting to ensure timely project completion.
  • Liaise with contractors, project managers, and city representatives.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with NYC DDC standards and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of project meetings, inspections, and correspondence.
