About The Position

Kleinfelder Construction Services is seeking experienced Office Engineers for projects throughout Southern California (Los Angeles County, Orange County, Inland Empire). If selected, you would support road and highway improvement projects with a hybrid work schedule. As part of our construction management team, the Office Engineer will provide engineering and administrative support to help ensure project success through quality documentation, effective communication, and proactive coordination.

Requirements

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in office engineering on transportation or major public works projects.
Experience preparing Caltrans contract change orders.
Knowledge of Caltrans standard plans, specifications, procedures, and Construction Manual.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and recordkeeping abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and team-focused professional who thrives in a collaborative environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or California PE license (a plus).

Nice To Haves

4+ years experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare construction change orders and supporting documentation, including independent cost estimates and memoranda.
Log, review, track, and respond to RFIs and submittmits.
Draft and manage project correspondence, including letters to contractors and project stakeholders.
Prepare and review monthly quantity sheets (Q-sheets) and assist with progress estimates.
Attend and document project meetings, including preparing agendas and meeting minutes.
Review and track contractor progress schedules.
Maintain project records, including monthly estimates and weekly project status reports.
Perform constructability reviews of transportation projects.
