About The Position

Techno is seeking an Office Engineer/Inspector to support a transportation infrastructure rehabilitation project in New Jersey. The ideal candidate will provide a blend of field inspection and office engineering support, ensuring construction activities are properly documented, coordinated, and executed in accordance with project requirements. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience supporting transportation or bridge rehabilitation projects and a strong understanding of construction administration processes within an active transit environment.

Requirements

5+ years of experience supporting transportation, bridge, or heavy civil construction projects.
Previous experience serving as an Office Engineer, Inspector, or a hybrid OE/Inspector role.
Prior NJ TRANSIT experience is required.
Strong understanding of construction administration, documentation, and inspection procedures.
Experience reviewing and processing RFIs, submittents, change orders, and contractor documentation.
Ability to work collaboratively with contractors, project teams, and client representatives.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with construction management software is a plus.
Ability to work both in the field and in an office environment as project needs dictate.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day field inspection and office engineering support throughout construction activities.
Monitor contractor work to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Prepare, review, and maintain daily reports, inspection logs, meeting minutes, and project documentation.
Coordinate with project stakeholders, contractors, and client representatives to track progress and resolve issues.
Review and process submittents, RFIs, change orders, and other construction-related documentation.
Assist with quantity tracking, schedule monitoring, and progress reporting.
Support construction meetings and maintain accurate project records throughout the duration of the assignment.
Verify installed work and document any deficiencies or non-conforming conditions.
Assist with project closeout activities, including punch list coordination and final documentation turnover.
