The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as Medical Card Hotline Office Coordinator. Under direction, this position will perform a variety of paraprofessional and technical office support functions. The position will answer calls on the Medical Card Hotline for DCFS, utilizing a working knowledge of policies, procedures, rules, and regulations involving Medicaid and private insurance carriers, as well as DCFS eligibility rules and practices. The position will review and make determinations regarding whether a temporary medical card needs to be issued when DCFS field staff report new episodes of protective custody. The position will provide assistance to foster/adoptive parents with pharmacy, preauthorization, and medical billing issues, utilizing knowledge of DCFS eligibility rules and practices. This position will also provide technical assistance and resolution to pharmacies and medical offices regarding billing issues and will research and troubleshoot third party liability issues. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is detail oriented and interested in playing a supporting role in the Department’s operations.
