About The Position

This is a part-time Office Clerk position in Edison, NJ, offering stability in a growing, environmentally conscious, publicly traded company. The role provides an opportunity to work alongside America’s most respected brands and food manufacturers. The position involves performing clerical accounting procedures with basic to intermediate experience in accounting practices under US GAAP, while adhering to SOX internal controls. Key responsibilities include managing accounts payable and billing, assisting the Plant Controller with monthly accounting close tasks, inputting production and usage data into the ERP system, assisting with inventory cycle counts and variance resolution, and interacting with various departments for data gathering and problem-solving. Daily administrative tasks such as maintaining information files, filing, scanning, copying, and processing paperwork are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Business or related field of study or equivalent experience in an accounting role.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have strong time management skills.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed to accommodate work fluctuations and deadlines.
  • Experience using integrated ERP software (e.g., Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, OnBase) and MS Office.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 - 2 years accounting experience or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clerical accounting procedures requiring basic to intermediate experience with accounting practices under US GAAP while adhering to SOX internal controls.
  • Manage accounts payable and billing processes.
  • Assist Plant Controller with monthly accounting close tasks such as generating system reports and completing reconciliations.
  • Input production and usage into ERP system from inventory control system.
  • Assist Controller with inventory cycle counts and resolving count variances.
  • Interact with various departments to gather accounting data and assist in problem resolution.
  • Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files, filing, scanning documents, copying and processing paperwork.
