About The Position

We are looking for a motivated individual to serve as Office Associate for the Director’s Office. This position will serve as a receptionist in the Department of Corrections’ Executive Office in Chicago, provide clerical support, and prepare typed documents. In addition, this position will open, sort, and direct mail to the appropriate party. We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to serve in this role and encourage all qualified applicants to apply.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two (2) years of office experience.
  • Requires ability to type accurately at 45 words per minute.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
  • Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a receptionist in the Department of Corrections’ Executive Office in Chicago.
  • Provides clerical support to the Director’s office, including coordinating and maintaining confidential correspondence and distribution of same.
  • Prepares typed documents which are highly confidential and sensitive in nature.
  • Opens, sorts and directs mail to appropriate party.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
