About The Position

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a talented Office Assistant to join their Patient Financial Services team. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and a commitment to providing excellent administrative support. The position is located at the East Campus Corporate Pavillion. The Operations Office Assistant is a flexible role involving various responsibilities, including managing correspondence and mailing for the Operations Team, such as sorting and mailing paper claims, mailing refunds, pulling and mailing documents from Work from Home folders, and distributing correspondence and returned mail to team members. High-priority tasks involve efficient handling of BCBS Letters and mailing claims. This role requires adaptability and versatility. The position is full-time, benefit-eligible, with an 8-hour shift and flexible start time ending no later than 5:30 PM. Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Proficient with computers to include keyboarding, basic navigation and use of email applications required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in verbal and written form required.
  • Ability to multi-task required.
  • Ability to deal with difficult or challenging customer interactions and escalate to management as appropriate required.
  • Ability to work with multi-line phone system required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively during escalated situations required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with customers or patients preferred.
  • Experience with Telecommunication system, ComputerLog books, and schedules preferred.
  • Experience with general office materials/equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as receptionist for assigned department(s) for internal and external customers.
  • Provide clerical and general office support for departmental operations.
  • Support external customers, such as patients and their families, as primary responsibility.
  • Support department or office as secondary responsibility.
  • Manage correspondence and mailing for the Operations Team.
  • Sort and mail paper claims.
  • Mail refunds.
  • Pull and mail documents from Work from Home folders.
  • Distribute correspondence and returned mail to team members.
  • Efficiently handle BCBS Letters and mail claims.
