Office Assistants are responsible for processing appointments, customer reception, and encounter management for both in-person visits and phone contacts. This role involves processing medical information, including results and encounter documentation, which may be electronic or paper. The assistant may also have primary or back-up responsibility for accurately and timely managing encounter charge posting and clinic billing functions. They assist patients with questions regarding their care and service and perform additional responsibilities as needed by individual clinic/office settings and as directed by the Clinic Supervisor or Clinic Director.
