About The Position

The job of "Office Assistant" is done for the purpose of providing requested clerical support at school site; communicating various information regarding activities and/or in response to requests; and providing for timely and accurate distribution of materials. This is a morning dispatch role, Monday - Friday, 2 hours per day, from 5:30 AM - 7:30 AM. The stated rates are for the 25-26 school year and do not reflect increases for the 26-27 school year.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior job related experience.
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment.
  • Skills to operate standard office equipment including use of computer applications, use English in both written and verbal form, use correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Fingerprint/Background Clearance
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Valid Driver's License & evidence of Insurability

Responsibilities

  • Answers telecommunication system for the purpose of screening calls, transferring calls, responding to inquiries and/or taking messages.
  • Composes documents, (e.g. correspondence, agendas, minutes, bulletins, reports, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to school and district personnel, the public, state officials, etc.
  • Dispenses medication as prescribed by a doctor and at parent request.
  • Maintains inventory of office supplies for the purpose of ensuring availability of required items.
  • Maintains various records, schedules, files, rosters, etc. for the purpose of documenting and/or providing reliable information.
  • Monitors individual students, classroom and/or playground activities for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Performs emergency first aid in the absence of the secretary and/or principal.
  • Processes documents and materials (e.g. schedules, agendas, mail, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.
  • Responds to inquiries of staff, the public, parents and/or students for the purpose of providing information and/or direction as may be required.
  • Supervises students for the purpose of monitoring students referred for disciplinary actions.
  • Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
  • Handles funds for the purpose of processing student fees, sale of products, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
