About The Position

The Office Assistant is responsible for scheduling patient appointments for Primary Care Clinic, answering telephones, greeting patients, obtaining insurance pre-certifications, scanning and obtaining medical records, scheduling appointments with specialists, and entering patient charges with billing information. The role also requires exhibiting the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service and Trust).

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of previous medical office experience
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to research and analyze information, develop conclusions, recommendations, and reports
  • Ability to use keyboard and general office equipment including telephone, fax, and scanners
  • Ability to use various information technology systems, including Office Practicum, Internet, Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (orally and written)
  • Excellent customer service and service recovery skills
  • Flexibility to respond to changing priorities and interruptions
