The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services provides services that promote and improve agriculture, agribusiness, and forests; protect consumers and businesses; and conserve farmland and natural resources for the prosperity of all North Carolinians. The North Carolina Forest Service (NCFS) is designated as an emergency response Division and a team of professionals who provide forest protection, resource management and environmental education to the residents and landowners of NC through a variety of programs. The NCFS provides services to the 100 counties in NC. The primary purpose of this position is to assist and support the Assistant District Forester in the forest management program area. Also provides support and assistance to the District Forester and Office Manager in relation to other areas of North Carolina Forest Service (NCFS) program delivery. Duties include but are not limited to: preparing and reviewing computer generated documents; electronic and hard copy filing; file organization; general accounting and accounts receivable; invoicing; reception and directing of the public; human resource and personnel assistance; purchasing and requisition according to agency standards; maintenance of local computer and technology systems; and emergency response relating to financial and/or administrative support of wildfire suppression or other "all-risk" emergency incidents as needed.
