About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the school office and/or administrative department. The role involves providing secretarial services, managing communications and documentation, supporting budget and purchasing processes, and serving as a liaison between staff, students, parents, and the community. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two years administrative support experience and/or equivalent training required.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and budgeting principles.
  • Ability to operate a computer and applicable software and devices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with strong knowledge of correct English usage, spelling, punctuation and grammar.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of customer service skills and professionalism.
  • Ability to effectively organize and operate a welcoming customer-focused office.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and promote a welcoming customer-focused office.
  • Provide primary secretarial services for the Principal/Assistant Principal/Department Supervisor as necessary.
  • Facilitate meeting agendas, logistics, and meetings.
  • Prepare, edit, and manage correspondence, communications, reports, presentations, maintain building/department social media accounts, and other documentations.
  • Support the budget, inventory, and purchasing processes, including contract management.
  • Manage complex projects as assigned.
  • Obtain, organize, and enter pertinent data in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Establish and maintain records, filing and scanning systems.
  • Assist in maintaining child accounting records as needed.
  • Serve as a vital liaison for communication involving staff, students, parents, and community.
  • Coordinate all clerical functions for the supervisor/department.
  • Assist in providing building/department information and procedures.
  • Maintain departmental policies, procedure manuals and work instructions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
