About The Position

UPMC Williamsport has a Full-Time Office Assistant II, Lead opening in our Orthopedics Department! This role involves assisting with the day-to-day functions of the physician office, serving as the office contact for decisions and troubleshooting regarding patient, provider, or staff issues/concerns. The position provides physician support and customer service, including secretarial, clerical, and reception duties in the front office area.

  • 4 years of experience
  • Act 34

Responsibilities

  • Oversees staff in the performance of their duties, working to develop the staff to best meet the needs of the practice.
  • Manages an effective and efficient patient flow in collaboration with providers, clinical staff and clerical staff.
  • Commit to high quality, safe work; encourage others to have similar standards. Identify processes/systems that could lead to inefficient practices, unsafe conditions, errors or adverse events. Avoid shortcuts to ensure quality and safety measures are not circumvented. Encourage patient and family involvement in processes involving patient safety.   • Acts at the point person for communication between providers, clinical staff, clerical staff and management staff.
  • Serves in the role of Office Assistant II, by scheduling appointments, filing reports, letters and test results and assisting with financial billing responsibilities.
