About The Position

ChristianaCare Primary Care at Medical Arts Pavilion II is seeking a detail-oriented, adaptable, and highly organized Medical Office Assistant I. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to proactively solve problems in a fast-paced environment. Primary Care at Medical Arts Pavilion II, located in Newark, Delaware, offers a comprehensive practice encompassing pediatrics, family medicine, and internal medicine. The team of physicians, assistants, and nurse practitioners provides expert care for newborns, children, and adults, including gynecology, women's health, vaccinations, and physical examinations. In this role, the Medical Office Assistant I is responsible for scheduling appointments with careful attention to insurance details, greeting patients while collecting necessary information, and processing referrals while maintaining strict confidentiality. This position offers an opportunity to be part of a mission-driven team dedicated to excellent service and patient care.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED required.

  • Experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Handle payments, verify insurance coverage, coordinate referrals, and reconcile daily appointments and payments.
  • Manage communications by answering calls, relaying messages, and using EMR systems to coordinate with providers and staff.
  • Update patients, schedule tests and appointments, maintain medical records, resolve patient issues, support administrative tasks, and follow safety protocols, with additional duties as needed.
