This is a Limited Duration Assignment (LDA) position, expected to last up to two years, but may end sooner. This recruitment may also be used to fill future vacancies, including on-call, temporary, limited duration, or regular status positions. The Multnomah County Health Department is seeking individuals inspired by its mission to advance health equity, protect the most vulnerable, and promote health and wellness for everyone. The Office Assistant 2 primarily manages front reception desk operations for the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. Key duties include screening applicants for program eligibility, scheduling appointments, checking participants in and out, answering inquiries, documenting transactions, issuing food benefits, and preparing official correspondence. The role requires critical thinking to resolve administrative issues, provides supplemental telephone support, collaborates with team members, and maintains exceptional customer service. The position fosters a professional environment grounded in respect, trust, and cultural competence to serve diverse populations. Bilingual/bicultural proficiency in English and one of the following languages is required: Dari, Arabic, Haitian/Creole, Spanish, Somali, or Cantonese, along with knowledge of and experience with the corresponding community(s) and culture(s). This is a part-time (0.5 FTE) position.
