About The Position

The Salvation Army’s Lynn Corps is hiring an Office and Food Pantry Coordinator. This role is responsible for overseeing all office functions, including answering and directing calls, welcoming visitors, managing volunteers, tracking gifts-in-kind, and simple filing. The coordinator will work closely with the social ministries case manager to coordinate deliveries, unload deliveries, pack food packs, manage food pantry days, distribute food, train volunteers, and register clients in Pantry Soft. This is a part-time position of 25 hours per week.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Must be able to use a computer (Excel, PowerPoint, Pantry Soft) and other devices (phone, fax, printer, etc)
  • Must have good interpersonal skills
  • Must have good organizational skills
  • Must have good basic math skills
  • Must be able to work with very little direction
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Must be able to direct and lead volunteers
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Social Services experience preferred
  • Receptionist experience preferred
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones and direct calls accordingly and greet visitors
  • Maintain files, copying, faxing, filing, and enter clients into Pantry Soft
  • Draft letters to donors as directed by the Corps Officers
  • Record gifts in kind monthly
  • Work closely with Social Ministries Case Manager and Corps Officers to assist with food orders and deliveries
  • Manage food delivery days and work with staff/volunteers to unload and put away the food
  • Work closely with Program Assistant and Janitor to unload food truck
  • Train volunteers to pack food bags and how to use Pantry Soft
  • Ensure that the pantry and all used areas are kept clean and meet Health Department standards
  • Perform other duties within the scope of the position assigned by supervisor
