About The Position

This position is for 8.00 hours per day, 180 days (9 months) per year and is compensated according to Lane 4(B) of the Administrative Assistants Salary Schedule. This position is eligible for benefits and retirement. The job of Office Aide was established for the purpose/s of providing general clerical support within the school site; communicating information to students, parents, staff and the public; and maintaining complete and accurate records.

Requirements

  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.
  • Must have knowledge of common office machines; and office methods and practices.
  • Must be able to communicate with diverse groups; being attentive to detail; meeting deadlines and schedules; adapting to changing work priorities; and working as part of a team.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Administers first aid and medication to students under the direction of a health professional for the purpose of meeting immediate health care needs.
  • Distributes mail, supplies, messages, etc. for the purpose of disseminating material to appropriate parties.
  • Greets individuals entering the school office (e.g. visitors, parents, students, vendors, etc.) for the purpose of responding to inquiries and/or directing individuals to appropriate location/personnel.
  • Maintains a variety of records and/or files (manual and computerized) (e.g. test scores, accident reports, student cum files, etc.) for the purpose of providing documentation for audit purposes and meeting state, federal and administrative requirements.
  • Monitors students referred for illness or disciplinary action for the purpose of ensuring their safety and welfare.
  • Performs general clerical functions (e.g. copying, faxing, etc.) for the purpose of supporting school site operations.
  • Prepares documents and materials using standardized formats (e.g. notes, correspondence, calendars, meal counts, periodic reports, purchase orders, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to school and district personnel, the public, state officials, etc.
  • Responds to inquiries of staff, other schools, the public, parents and/or students for the purpose of providing information and/or direction.
  • Assists other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
