About The Position

This position is located outside the plant and is part of the receiving department. The primary responsibility is driving the yard truck to move and park trailers and trucks as needed throughout the entire shift. This role also involves completing initial safety checks/inspections of the yard truck and documenting them on the inspection form. Constant communication with the supervisor and receiving team is necessary to understand trailer movements required at the receiving dock. The driver must monitor the radio constantly and respond immediately to requests from the supervisor or shipping & receiving team members. Assisting receiving team members with unloading trailers and timely communication with the supervisor about any issues during the shift are also key aspects of the role. The driver will also perform any other duties as assigned or requested by the Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must have 6 months experience operating 18 wheeler/ shag truck with trailer (Can be a combination of employers as long as the experience is at least 6 months.)
  • Must be able to back trailers using mirrors
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have valid state issued driver's license.
  • Have no DWI/DUI conviction within the past 12 Months.
  • Must be willing to submit to the Non-Dot disclosure and release form to obtain MVR.
  • Must be able to lift, pull, and/or push up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Applicants must be able to work with others to adhere to Tyson's safety culture.
