Off-Shift Director (Full-Time, Evenings)
About The Position
This full-time Off-Shift Director position at Edna Tina Wilson Living Center, within the ETW NURSING ADMIN department, operates Monday-Friday from 3:00pm-11:30pm. The role provides oversight of RN/LPN/CNA and secretarial staff in their daily duties, assists in problem-solving clinical issues and processes on the assigned unit, and acts as a clinical resource person. The Director works collaboratively with the nurse manager, staff, and providers to establish patient care plans and supports the nurse manager in developing work plans to achieve financial, quality, safety, and operational targets. The position emphasizes providing superior customer service by modeling the Brand Promise and Core Values.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program required
- One to three years of nursing experience
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)
- RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

Responsibilities
- Oversees & assures short & long term Nursing Dept. staff schedules per established quidelines
- Facilitates units in emergency medical assessment & care of residents including interventions, transportation & other resources needed
- Serves as a clinical resource person to staff in problem solving, assessments, special procedures & clinical skill enhancements
- Coordinates with the Nursing Staff resident units & admissions dept. the rapid admission of residents including obtaining evaluations as indicated
- Serves as adjunct to staff development coordinator in promoting planned inservices to nursing staff as per master schedule/plan
- Provides continuity of resident status with hospital supervisory staff, and Nursing Administration
- Supervises the M.D.R. directing, interacting with residents, families and staff in providing safe, pleasant mealtime and assuring appropriate completion of required records
- Serves as major facilitator in QA program for Nursing Dept. including completion of assessments of designated audits & resultant actions required
- In absence of Nurse Manager, provides staff counseling, discipline as per policy
- Assists with Charge Nurse duties as needed while maintaining overall supervisory responsibility.
- Participates in Nursing department and faclity QI program.
