About The Position

Boone Quarry, an underground limestone mine/quarry in Verona, KY, is seeking candidates to fill the need for an Off-road Haul Truck Driver. Rogers Group, Inc. is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees, established in 1908 and recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States. This is a full-time, day shift position with approximate shift times of 6:45 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. Wages start at $23.00/hr. for entry-level candidates, with pay determined by experience. Candidates with mining experience will be preferred, and Rogers Group will provide training for some positions requiring no experience.

Requirements

  • Dedication to safe work practices.
  • Ability to perform general laborer and clean-up duties on the ground and in the plant as needed/directed.
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 20 feet.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours as needed.
  • Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience operating both articulating haul trucks and/or rigid frame haul trucks is preferred.
  • Candidates with mining experience will be preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate haul trucks safely and efficiently to transport shot rock from the pit to the crusher or stockpile.
  • Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Assist with basic maintenance tasks such as fueling, cleaning, or checking fluid levels as trained and directed by management.
  • Communicate effectively with other equipment operators and other personnel via radio or other communication systems.
  • Operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency.
  • Operate equipment on varying terrain and in diverse weather conditions with consistent attention to safety and control.
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
